Acupuncture for Tennis

I work with tennis players, so I know what tennis demands from your body — explosive serves, sharp changes of direction, long rallies in the heat. That nagging elbow or shoulder soreness you keep playing through? I see it constantly. My job is to keep you on the court, not watching from the sidelines.

Common Tennis Injuries I Treat

  • Tennis elbow — pain on the outside of the elbow that flares with backhands and serves.
  • Rotator cuff strain — overhead serving and smashes stress the rotator cuff, causing deep shoulder ache and weakness.
  • Wrist pain — repetitive groundstrokes and off-center hits strain the wrist tendons and limit your control.
  • Calf strain — sudden sprints and hard stops can cause sharp calf pain, especially in singles players.

How I Work With Tennis Athletes

I use orthopedic acupuncture and dry needling to target the exact muscles and tendons causing your pain, starting with a sport-specific assessment of how you move. Your serve mechanics, footwork, and grip all feed into where you hurt, so we address the root cause, not just the symptoms. Treatments focus on reducing pain and inflammation, restoring mobility, and rebuilding strength so you can swing with full confidence. I also put athletes through EXSTORE testing (Examine, Restore) to determine which muscles aren’t firing properly, so treatment targets the real problem. My goal is a clear, realistic return-to-play plan that keeps you competing while you recover.

Supplements I often suggest

For tennis, these are the supplements I suggest most often in my practice:

  • PerfectAmino Powder, Mixed Berry (BodyHealth) — Essential amino acids for muscle protein synthesis — no calories, won’t break a fast.
  • Creatine Monohydrate Powder, Unflavored (Designs for Health) — Supports muscle growth and performance when paired with resistance training.
  • OmegAvail Hi-Po Fish Oil (Designs for Health) — 1,600 mg EPA/DHA per serving with lipase for absorption — no fishy aftertaste.
